ESAB South Africa and Unique Welding Alloys have formed a game changing strategic partnership to offer large-scale fabricators a new, premium welding and cutting product, process and service offering.

The move brings ESAB’s world-leading welding, automation and cutting machines, gas apparatus, PPE and accessories within the Unique Welding sales and logistics network - underpinned by 14 strategically-located branches.

The distribution partnership also combines the experience of the Unique Welding sales team and service support with the high-end product and process expertise resident at ESAB.

Customers can look forward to the backing of a responsive supplier offering welding and cutting solutions customised to individual application requirements.

This customised integrated welding and cutting solution comprises the specification and supply of matched process components such as the MIG/MAG welding machine, wire feeder, consumable and gas; giving the customer a welding process that is optimised to give the best safety, productivity, efficiency and quality for a specific application.

Less Welding Time, Lower Cost, More Throughput

ESAB and Unique Welding customers will, for instance, enjoy improved welding speeds, reduced consumables consumption and reduced weld defects using advanced welding machine processes that deploy digital technologies to help companies overcome the welding skills challenge.

ESAB South Africa MD Massimo Borello said the addition of Unique Welding Alloys to the ESAB line-up of supplier partners had greatly expanded its footprint, with the potential to bring ESAB to new markets.

Unique Welding as a distributor partner enables us to serve customers by way of a large, experienced sales team. Aftermarket support will be routed through Unique Welding’s workshop service centres which are able to repair machines and support warranty claims in all the main industrial centres.

It is a synergistic partnership that enables us to offer our world-leading products to most large industrial manufacturers concomitant with the levels of service and support that are pivotal to long-term supplier-customer partnerships.”

Unique Welding CEO Nazmi Adams said the ESAB range was the launchpad from which his company would grow the premium segment of the fabrication market.
